Following the devastation after the earthquake, HERD supported UNICEF to conduct a rapid school assessment in 11 of the 14 districts earthquake affected districts and assessed whether the schools were safe or unsafe to be reopened. The assessment was carried out in all the community, institutional and traditional schools of the 11 districts. A total of 5146 community schools and 514 institutional schools were assessed across 11 districts.
Project Objectives
• To carry out a RAPID structural assessment of the school building and mark it as safe or unsafe to be reopened
• Carry out the assessment in all the government, private and traditional schools of the district
